Cheapest Invisalign in London: What Changes the Price
The cheapest Invisalign in London is usually a short course for minor crowding, with adult treatment starting from around £2,650 in central London and £2,800 in outer London, rising to £4,000 to £6,000 for comprehensive cases; the price depends far more on how much your teeth need to move than on where you go.
| What you choose | Typical effect on price | Is it a safe saving? |
|---|---|---|
| Short course for minor crowding | from £2,650 | Yes, if the bite does not need correcting |
| Moderate package with capped aligners | £2,800–£4,000 | Yes, for mild to moderate cases |
| Comprehensive package | £4,000–£6,000 | Necessary for bite correction |
| Treating one arch only | Often several hundred pounds less | Only if the bite stays stable |
| Outer London practice | Varies; fixed braces often cheaper | Yes, if travel is easy |
| Interest-free finance | Same total, spread over 12–24 months | Yes |
| Package with few or no refinements | Lower upfront, may cost more later | Risky for complex cases |
| Remote kit without examination | Lowest headline price | Not recommended |

Why does Invisalign cost different amounts in London?
Invisalign fees are made up of the aligners themselves, clinical time for planning and appointments, records such as scans and X-rays, retainers, and the practice's running costs. In London, those running costs are high, particularly in the centre. But the biggest variable is your case. A short course with a handful of aligners to tidy up lower front teeth needs far less planning and fewer visits than a comprehensive course that corrects crowding and the bite.

What is the cheapest type of Invisalign?
Short packages with a capped number of aligners are the cheapest. They suit:
- Minor crowding of a few front teeth.
- Small gaps.
- Mild relapse after childhood braces.
They do not suit cases where the bite needs to change, because a short course may straighten the front teeth while leaving the bite unchanged, and the teeth may move again. If a practice recommends a short course, ask whether they have checked your bite and why they think it is suitable.
Is cheap Invisalign worth it?
It can be, if it is the right treatment for your teeth. A lower price from a practice that has examined you properly, explained the options and included refinements and retainers is good value. A low price that leaves out the things you need is not. These are the gaps to look for:
- No in-person examination. Moving teeth without checking gums, roots and decay can cause lasting harm.
- No refinements included. If teeth do not track, extra aligners can cost several hundred pounds.
- No retainers included. In London, a replacement removable retainer costs about £110 to £145 per arch and upper and lower bonded retainers about £450 to £500.
- Limited reviews. Fewer appointments save cost but mean problems are spotted later.
Is Invisalign cheaper in outer London?
Not always for aligners. In our London price list, adult aligners start from £2,650 in central London and £2,800 in outer London, while fixed braces start from £3,650 centrally and £2,800 in outer London. So outer London is often cheaper for braces, but not necessarily for aligners. Compare actual quotes rather than assuming an area is cheaper.
Travel matters too. You will need reviews every 6 to 10 weeks. A slightly cheaper practice that is hard to reach can cost you more in time and missed appointments.
How can you lower the cost of Invisalign safely?
- Get the right package. Ask which package your case needs and why.
- Ask about one-arch treatment. If only your lower teeth are crowded and your bite is fine, treating one arch may be an option.
- Use interest-free finance. Spreading £2,650 over 24 months at 0% after a £500 deposit is about £90 a month, with no extra cost. Our guide to Invisalign monthly cost has more examples.
- Check inclusions. A slightly higher fee that includes refinements and retainers can be cheaper overall.
- Wear your aligners properly. Good wear means fewer refinements and no need for extra treatment.
- Keep your retainers safe. Losing retainers is one of the most common avoidable costs after treatment.
Are there alternatives to Invisalign that cost less?
Other clear aligner systems are available and some practices price them slightly lower. They work in the same way and the results depend mainly on planning and supervision, not the brand. Metal fixed braces can also cost less than comprehensive aligner treatment for complex cases. Our comparison of Invisalign vs braces and our guide to Invisalign cost in the UK set out the numbers.

Request a consultationDoes the clinician change the price?
It can. Specialist orthodontists, who are on the General Dental Council's Specialist List in Orthodontics, sometimes charge more than general dentists who provide aligners. For a short, simple course, a trained general dentist may be a perfectly good and slightly cheaper choice. For a case with a bite problem, paying a little more for specialist planning often avoids the much bigger cost of treatment that has to be extended or redone. Whoever you choose, check them on the GDC online register, and ask how many aligner cases like yours they treat each year.
Are Invisalign offers and discounts worth it?
Some practices run offers such as a free consultation, a free scan or a discount for paying in full. These can be genuinely useful, particularly a free scan that lets you see a digital plan before committing. Be cautious of time-limited deals that push you to sign on the day, and of discounts on packages that leave out refinements or retainers. The fairest comparison is always the total fee in writing for the package your teeth actually need.
What about remote aligner companies?
Some companies sell aligners with little or no in-person examination, using impressions taken at home or a quick scan. The headline price can be lower, but the risks are real: undiagnosed gum disease or decay, teeth moved without X-rays of the roots, bite problems that are not addressed, and limited help if something goes wrong. Professional bodies recommend an in-person examination by a GDC-registered clinician before any orthodontic treatment.
What questions should you ask to compare cheap Invisalign quotes?
- Which package is this, and how many aligners does it include?
- Have you checked my bite, and is it suitable for a short course?
- How many refinements are included, and for how long?
- Which retainers are included?
- How many review appointments are included?
- What is the total fee in writing?
How much is Invisalign for teenagers in London?
Teen aligners in London typically start from around £2,500 in outer London and £2,760 in central London. Packages for teenagers often include replacement aligners if some are lost, which is worth checking.
